Apparently Odell Beckham Jr's sideline outburst last week directed at Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens was exactly what he needed to finally make some changes within Cleveland's fledgling offense.

According to Kitchens, offensive coordinator Todd Monken has been stripped of his play-calling duties for the time being, and Kitchens himself will assume the role for this week's game against the 1-14 Bengals. For Kitchens, removing Monken from said role gives Cleveland their best opportunity to win.

The Browns have been the subject of intense scrutiny all season, as they have failed to live up to expectations.

Their on-field production has done little to show for the immense amount of talent they have. They're currently ranked 15th in the league in total offense, and just 23rd in the passing game, sporting a 6-9 record in the AFC North. After handing the Ravens just their second defeat of the year in an impressive 40-25 victory in Week 4, they were bludgeoned at home by Lamar Jackson's entourage 31-15 last Sunday.

Beckham's complaints came just a week after Jarvis Landry scolded Kitchens in a similar fashion, and he's waited until the last game of the season to make a significant change to their gameplan. Too little too late are the words that immediately come to mind regarding Kitchens' decison, and that may be the same exact phrase he hears when it comes time for his contract renewal in the offseason.
