Tom Brady Sharing His Mom's Texts About ESPN's Coverage of Him is Absolute Gold
By Scott Rogust
Tom Brady is no longer a New England Patriot, in case you might have missed the thousands upon thousands of news reports over the past week. At the age of 42, Brady made the decision to move down to Florida, but not for retirement. Instead, he's going to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Given that nearly all global sports are suspended indefinitely, the Brady-to-Tampa news was a godsend for media outlets. In fact, ESPN decided to air a marathon of Patriots games on Sunday to coincide with Brady's big move.
Brady's mother, Galynn, couldn't help but let her son know about this -- but not without a joke.
You can't necessarily blame Mama Brady. Whenever there's a "best of" series on a specific athlete, you're likely to first assume they just retired... or worse.
That's not the case with TB12.
Rather, this is due to all sports being delayed until further notice, with TV networks scrambling to find ways to fill airtime. You can't blame ESPN for deciding to broadcast some Patriots games to fill this massive void.
Once the 2020 season commences, football fans will see Brady wear something other than a Patriots uniform for the first time since two decades ago, when he played college football for the Michigan Wolverines. No more navy blue and silver for the six-time Super Bowl champion, as he'll swap it out for the Buccaneers' trademark red and pewter.
