Gardner Minshew's Career Completion Percentage is a Freaking Work of Art
By Michael Luciano
This year's sixth-round pick and current Jacksonville Jaguars starting quarterback Gardner Minshew has captivated the nation with his bold wardrobe choices, razor-sharp wit, and standout play on the field. Not to mention, he's set an NFL record for passer rating through a player's first four games at 106.9.
Of course, you don't get a passer rating that high without being a hyper-efficient passer, and Minshew has set that record on the back of the nicest completion percentage possible.
That's it. Cancel the season. The Jaguars franchise will never reach a milestone quite like this again.
Minshew, who stepped in after $88 million man Nick Foles broke his collarbone in Week 1, has been making a case for rookie of the year, as his 7-1 TD/INT ratio is tops among rookies while he has the highest red zone passer rating in the league.
OC John DeFilippo has created an offense that maximizes Minshew's standout accuracy on short passes and ability to make something happen on the move. There's no telling where Minshew mania will take him or the Jaguars next.
