Gary Sanchez Dealing With a Sore Back is a Slap in the Face to Yankees Fans Everywhere
By Brady Williams
Let's do a Yankees roll call. Aaron Judge is sidelined with a stress fracture in his ribs. Luis Severino is out for the year and needs Tommy John surgery. James Paxton is gone for a few months after back surgery, while Giancarlo Stanton hurt his calf and is expected to miss the start of the campaign. Aaron Hicks will likely be out until the summer.
Well, at least fans don't have to worry about Gary Sanch... oh no, you're kidding. Gary Sanchez is dinged up now too?
Is he going to miss a significant chunk of time? Not at all. Aaron Boone expects him to play on Monday, but it's the principle of the matter. Just how much more of this can Yankees fans take?
The Yankees are supposed to be World Series favorites, but the dugout it starting to look more like an ICU. It's incredibly frustrating to see so much talent off the field because they can't stay healthy.
Sanchez is probably fine, but even a little nagging pain is going to blow up in the biggest sports market in the country. With a seemingly endless string of new Yankees injuries and Opening Day just around the corner, it's starting to look a little scary for New York.
Hopefully, luck can turn around for the Bronx Bombers, and the bleeding (some of it literal) can stop.
