VIDEO: George Springer Getting Booed and Then Swinging Out of His Shoes is Absolutely Perfect
By Scott Rogust

The Houston Astros need to get used to playing in hostile road environments, and they're getting a taste of that early on in spring. The Astros have become the biggest target in baseball due to the team's sign-stealing scandal. The latest victim to face the boo birds is Astros leadoff man George Springer. When facing the New York Mets on Wednesday, Springer was greeted with loud jeers in the third inning. Well, in an attempt to silence the haters, the 30 year old swung for the fences, though he's probably wishing he hadn't. Rather than make contact with the ball, the 'Stros outfielder ended up swinging out of his own shoes, winding up on a knee in the box.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly what it looks like when fans have successfully gotten under a player's skin.
Springer was clearly trying to park the ball in the bleachers to shut up the roar of the antagonizing crowd. In the end, he wound up looking foolish and will likely think twice before trying to knock one out of the park.

As for the fans, this will certainly serve as fuel for them to continue their berating of Astros players, as clearly it's starting to have an effect.
