VIDEO: Georgia Adds to Lead Over Baylor With Touchdown Passes to George Pickens and Matt Landers
By Michael Luciano
After a quiet first quarter of action in the Sugar Bowl, Georgia got the second quarter off to an exciting start. Jake Fromm dropped a dime to wideout George Pickens, giving Georgia a 10-0 lead over the Bears.
Georgia was embarrassed by a Big 12 school the last time they made the trip to New Orleans, and they don't appear as if they are going to allow Matt Rhule and the Bears to beat up on them like Texas did.
Pickens has been targeted early and often by Fromm, as he's the only experienced receiver available in Wednesday's clash, but some of the younger guys were able to make an impact as well.
Matt Landers hauled in a TD grab of his own with just a couple of minutes left in the first half, extending UGA's lead to 19-0.
It's been all Bulldogs in the first half, and Fromm and Co. are playing a far more inspired game than they did in 2019's Sugar Bowl.
