Georgia Finishes With Top Recruiting Class in the Country and Now it's Time to Deliver a National Title
By Michael Luciano
Ed Orgeron, Nick Saban, and Dabo Swinney all led their programs to excellent seasons, but it's Kirby Smart and the reigning SEC East champion Georgia Bulldogs who were the top dogs (no pun intended) on the recruiting trail for the second time in the last three seasons.
Georgia once again picked up the best recruiting class in the country, beating out Alabama, LSU, and Clemson for the title.
The Bulldogs have four 5-star recruits and 15 4-star talents in the class of 2020. The headliners include offensive tackle Broderick Jones, the nation's top cornerback in Kelee Ringo, and athletic tight end Darnell Washington.
Smart has proven that he can kill it as a recruiter, but he needs to find some way to get over the Alabama and LSU humps that have kept Georgia out of the national championship game picture for the last two years.
Winning the recruiting title is a nice little accomplishment, but it doesn't mean anything unless the team can put together the final product on the field. Maybe this year will finally be the season it all comes together for Smart, even with Jake Fromm headed for the pros.
