Georgia Football Schedule Sets up Bulldogs Perfectly to Dethrone Alabama
By Michael Luciano
By virtue of playing in the weaker SEC East, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have an easier path to the SEC Championship game than Nick Saban and Alabama.
The football gods have smiled on Georgia early on this year, as their schedule seems like a walk in the park as compared to the other heavyweights in the SEC.
They start the season off with a winnable conference matchup against Vanderbilt. Their toughest game on the schedule is Notre Dame, and they get the Irish at home this year. They also get tough SEC matchups in Texas A&M and Kentucky at home. In fact, they only play four true road games this year, the toughest of which is October 5 at Tennessee.
While Alabama only has four true road games as well, they'll have to travel to College Station, Starkville, and Auburn. All three of these environments are extremely inhospitable and could bring about a potential upset.
If there is one team in all of college football with the best shot at ending the Alabama-Clemson duopoly, it's Jake Fromm and the Bulldogs.
