Georgia is by Far the Luckiest Power-5 Team in College Football Playoff Rankings
By Mark Powell

Jake Fromm, Kirby Smart and Co. should be thanking their lucky stars the College Football Playoff committee deemed them the No. 6 team in the country after the first edition of the rankings came out on Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs, who own one loss at the hands of the South Carolina Gamecocks, still control their own destiny. By winning out and defeating either Alabama or LSU in the SEC Championship Game, the Dawgs can secure their spot in the CFP.

Georgia is fresh off a win over Florida, but the committee clearly deems its conference as far superior to the likes of the Big 12.
For example, Oklahoma also has one loss on the season (to the No. 16 team in these very same rankings!) and was placed in the No. 9 slot. Sooners fans are furious, as they sit behind Clemson, Georgia, Oregon and Utah in the race for the top-4. Their journey to the National Semifinals would require a lot of teams ahead of them to lose, while the Bulldogs path remains crystal clear.

Smart has done a fantastic job reigning his team in after a disappointing result in Columbia. But still, the Dawgs are incredibly lucky to be placed in a prime position moving forward.
Don't expect Georgia fans to complain.
