Georgia Making Their Entire Season All About Beating Alabama Could Be a Huge Mistake

Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart is entering his fourth season at the helm, and he's turned this program into a powerhouse, posting a 32-10 record and reaching the college football championship in 2017.

But it's not good enough and they need to "do more," according to Smart.

“It’s a great theme because it’s simple,” Smart said. “We like it because we understand how close we’ve been to taking the next step. Although 24-5 the last two seasons is good, it’s not good enough. It’s not where we expect to be at the University of Georgia. Our mission is to bridge that gap.”

Why does he say that? Because they've had a couple brutal losses to Alabama in recent years, which is the team to beat and the program every team should model themselves after, especially a fellow SEC program like Georgia.

Smart wants his guys to beat Alabama, which is great, but don't let this one matchup consume you.

I'm sure Georgia fans love to hear this, but be careful in giving too much focus in beating Bama. Yes, they have been the team in their way, but they can't put all their energy and attention in one opponent and expect to come out of the East, much less make it to the SEC title game where they'd likely face the Crimson Tide.
