Georgia Must Close on Key Opportunity to Snag Hometown WR After Decommitment From Notre Dame

Georgia is one of the best programs in the country at convincing the best players in their state to stay local, and the next stud that Kirby Smart has to be eyeing up is 4-star wide receiver Deion Colzie, who recently decommitted from Brian Kelly and the Fighting Irish.

The Athens Academy product did keep the Irish in his top 10, but he made sure to leave the Bulldogs in his new, revised list of potential landing spots.

Georgia is switching to a more pass-happy offensive attack now that Todd Monken is the new offensive coordinator, and he needs more receivers that have Colzie's physical traits.

Monken likes big receivers who can separate deep down the field, and Colzie fits the bill. At 6-4 and 195 pounds with plus speed, it's no wonder why the best programs in the country are looking at him as a potential deep threat receiver.

While sticking it to teams like Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee should be reason enough for Georgia to try to keep Colzie local, his sky-high ceiling could get him some immediate playing time as a freshman with a starting role in his future.
