Georgia QB D'Wan Mathis Will Reportedly Be Cleared to Play in 2020
There will be few better stories in the SEC next season than seeing Georgia quarterback D'Wan Mathis suited up and on the sidelines.
Last year, after signing with Georgia and enrolling early, the signal-caller underwent surgery to remove a cyst from his brain in May. Now, reports have surfaced out of Athens the 6-5, 200-pounder will be good to go for next campaign.
This is a feel-good story all around. Mathis looked all set to play for Ohio State, but flipped on the first day of the 2019 Early Signing Period to Georgia. After going through spring practices, he underwent his surgery.
He's made a quick recovery from the start, and was even able to go through some drills with the team during this past season. However, he wasn't cleared for contact. That will change once camp arrives later this year.
After going through such a scary ordeal, you better believe No. 2 will be fired up to run out of the tunnel come next campaign. Truly a remarkable story and comeback for Mathis.
