Last month, the Southeastern Conference of the NCAA gave its schools the approval to sell alcohol during their home games.

Among those teams are the Georgia Bulldogs, the reigning SEC East Champions who lost to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship Game. Yet, on Tuesday, the University of Georgia announced that they will not serve alcohol at sporting events next year.

Georgia had the choice on whether or not they would allow the sale of alcohol at their sporting events, mostly their football games. The University decided against the sale of alcohol, and will not offer it at their sporting events for the 2019-20 season.

However, this does not mean that Sanford Stadium or other sporting home games will be completely dry, being that the SEC previously allowed the sale of alcohol in premium seating areas.

The SEC's decision does not require all schools to sell alcohol, and left it up to each program to decide.

The lifted ban would not allow vendors to walk up and down the aisles or sell hard liquor, rather everything would have to be bought at a stationary location and only beer and wine would be sold.
