By Jackson Thompson

Texas A&M is not just poaching Georgia coaching talent, but it's now taking some top-end recruiting talent with it. Just one day after hiring Georgia offensive coordinator James Coley as the Aggies' new tight ends coach, Jimbo Fisher is now taking Georgia's player personnel director Marshall Malchow, according to a report by the Athletic.
Malchow will be replacing Austin Thomas, who is leaving Texas A&M for a promotion to General Manager of Football Operations at Baylor. Malchow is expected to receive a significant pay raise at College Station.
Georgia is losing another ace recruiter to Texas A&M: Marshall Malchow, who was the player personnel director, is joining James Coley in College Station, a source confirms to The Athletic, adding to other previous reports.

Malchow had been with Kirby Smart since 2016.
Malchow was one of Kirby Smart's first hires when he took over at Georgia in 2016. It was a hire that paid dividends as Malchow produced top recruiting classes year after year for the Bulldogs. This year's recruiting class, which Malchow just finished helping put together, is the program's fourth-straight top-three mark per 247sports.
Malchow was a key behind-the-scenes figure over the past few years, working with both the coaches and the off-field staff in recruiting.

Both Malchow and Coley's bios have been removed from Georgia's web site.
News of this departure coincides with a key weekend of official visits for Georgia, so the Dawgs better hope they have a competent replacement ready to go.
