Georgia WR Lawrence Cager's Status Up in the Air After Ankle Injury in Practice
By Jerry Trotta

We hate to be the bearer of bad news on Thanksgiving, but this injury update will have fans in Athens feeling unsettled, no doubt.
Sources close to Seth Emerson of The Athletic understand that Georgia star wideout Lawrence Cager suffered an ankle injury in practice on Wednesday.
The severity of the injury remains to be seen, but early indicators suggest that he's in doubt of missing Saturday's rivalry week tilt against Georgia Tech.
Georgia WR Lawrence Cager, already dealing with nagging injuries to his ribs and shoulder, suffered an ankle injury in practice today, a source confirms to The Athletic.

The severity isn't certain, but right now it doesn't look good, per the source.
Losing Cager for the stretch run would be a massive blow to Georgia's offense, as he is Jake Fromm's go-to receiver.
For the year, the graduate transfer from Miami (FL) has hauled in 33 receptions for 476 yards, and four touchdowns.
What should worry Bulldogs buffs is how much Fromm struggles with Cager off the gridiron. In each of the last three games with his main target banged up -- he was sidelined last week against Texas A&M and played on limited snaps in the previous two tilts -- Fromm has completed less than 50 percent of his passes

Cager's loss looms large, as a date with No. 2 LSU in the SEC Championship game is slated for next weekend.
We will provide a more concrete timetable of Cager's recovery once it is made available, but in the meantime, expect wideouts George Pickens, Kearis Jackson and Dominick Blaylock to assume larger roles for Georgia.
