Gerrit Cole is on an Incredible Record Hot Streak for Astros Even Justin Verlander Cannot Match
By Ryan Giglio

The Houston Astros are nothing short of unstoppable at basically every position.
When you think you understand the greatness of the team and its players, another record-setting mark emerges to make your jaw drop.
What's next? The Astros are undefeated in Cole's last 13 starts. This is a franchise record for the longest streak of team wins in a pitcher's starts.
The last time the Astros lost a Gerrit Cole start was July 12 at the Rangers.

They won his next 13 starts -- the longest streak of team wins in a pitcher's starts in Astros history.
My goodness. The Rays must be shaking in their boots.
It's no shock the Cy Young award contender has pitched well enough to keep his team in position to win games, however, the streak is truly amazing because the entire team, especially the offense and the bullpen, manage to back Cole up in a big way every single time.

Houston has outscored opponents 98-29 during the 13-game span. Absolutely unbelievable.
This feat the Astros have accomplished is not easy -- just ask Jacob deGrom and the Mets. Even more incredibly, the Astros have somehow been unable to do this for Justin Verlander starts.
