Gerrit Cole Tweets Heartwarming Statement Thanking Astros Fans After Game 7 Defeat
By Parker White

If Gerrit Cole's comments while wearing a Scott Boras Corp. hat after Game 7 didn't tell you he's not coming back to Houston, then his thank you letter to Astros fans says it all.
Cole already has his sights set on free agency, so less than 24 hours after Houston's World Series loss he tweeted a touching statement to the city he called home for two years.

Cole loved his time in Houston (so he says) and became a better pitcher because of it, which is why there's a good chance he gets a record-setting contract in free agency, most likely from a team not named the Astros.

If Houston was willing to pony up, which they've basically admitted they won't, it wouldn't be out of the question that Cole would return. Either way, this team will be in the mix to come out of the American League next year.
However, he's from California and the Los Angeles Angels are figured to pay big money for his services, and you can never count out the New York Yankees, which drafted Cole out of high school.
