Giancarlo Stanton Already Out of Yankees Lineup in Second Game Back With Team
Aaron Boone mixing up the lineup again? On Tuesday, Yankees right fielder Giancarlo Stanton made his long-awaited return for the Bronx Bombers. However, things didn't quite go as planned, as the slugger went 0-for-4 in the win against the Rays. And as the Yankees go for the sweep on Wednesday evening, Stanton will be watching from the dugout.
Boone may be looking to give the star slugger some rest so he's not overused so early in his return, but some fans out there are questioning the call.
In addition to Stanton, Didi Gregorius is also out of tonight's lineup.
On the year, Stanton is hitting a lowly .167, with 0 homers and 0 RBI in 12 at-bats. Shouldn't he be getting more plate appearances to try and get into a groove?
If Stanton doesn't see the dish in a pinch-hit situation tonight, look for the Yankees to get him back in the lineup for a big series against Houston starting on Thursday. With Aaron Judge getting back soon as well, it will be imperative for the two studs to find their rhythm sooner rather than later.
