Giancarlo Stanton Provides Positive Update on His Injury at Yankees Spring Training
By Brendan Balsamo
With the New York Yankees' injury-plagued offseason and Spring Training, the team and their fans need some good news.
Giancarlo Stanton has been out since Feb. 26 with a Grade 1 calf strain and has yet to return back to the field. He's doubtful for Opening Day, but according to Stanton himself, he's making some quick development in his recovery.
The Yankees were desperate for some positive news after the multitude of injuries the roster's stars have succumbed to.
Aaron Hicks and Luis Severino are recovering from Tommy John surgery. James Paxton recently underwent back surgery. Aaron Judge has had a broken rib for months that no one knew about until this past week, and to top it off, Gary Sanchez might be getting tested for coronavirus after developing a fever, along with having a sore back.
The fact that Stanton is progressing positively even with the curse that the Yankees seem to have is relieving to say the least.
Even though he's still set to miss Opening Day, the fact that he's progressing well is music to the ear of Yankees fans, who haven't had too much to cheer for in the early days of spring ball.
