Giancarlo Stanton Shares Touching Instagram Post in Honor of Tyler Skaggs
By Brendan Azoff
No one knows the range of emotions that the members of the Los Angeles Angels are feeling right now like New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton. He was a part of the Miami Marlins team that was distraught after losing one of the game's most exciting young stars in José Fernández in 2016.
On Monday night, Stanton took to Instagram to post a heartfelt message, honoring Skaggs and supporting the Angels players who are currently in the shoes that Giancarlo once wore.
Playing on a team is a brotherhood, and going to work on a daily basis throughout the course of a long 162-game season means these players are accustomed to seeing the same faces everyday.
Now, with the emptiness that comes with losing someone close to you, Angels players face the tough challenge of coping with their emotions and continuing to do the job they get paid to do.
Stanton knows all too well what they're going through, and offered his support to the organization and players alike.
Stanton's advice and tribute is touching, and you could feel the emotion through the words that he used on his caption. We all remember the emotion that was brought to the field by the Marlins after Fernández passed away, and surely we will see that same emotion from the Angels whenever they make their return to the diamond.
When news like this emerges, everyone comes together, and we join Stanton and all others in sending condolences to Skaggs' family and the Angels on this day.
