Giants Straight up Stole a Tweet From the 49ers and George Kittle Isn't Happy About it
By Scott Rogust
On Day 2 of the NFL Draft, the New York Giants got the steal of the event by selecting Alabama safety Xavier McKinney in the second round. The playmaking, versatile defensive back had first-round value, but somehow dropped to the 36th overall pick. As it turns out, that wasn't the only steal by New York on Friday night.
The Giants' social media team posted a hilarious meme of the famous Montana news reporter and had him reacting to McKinney's highlight reel. Well, it was hilarious, until we found out the Giants stole the video from the San Francisco 49ers official Twitter account.
The 49ers used this meme a day earlier after the the organization selected South Carolina defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw with the 14th overall pick. And here we thought the Giants did something creative for once.
As if the video evidence wasn't enough, star tight end George Kittle called the Giants out for their video plagiarism in the replies section.
While New York is taking an "L" on Twitter, they're not going to cry about it. They've got themselves a stud defensive back to add to their secondary, and that's all that truly matters to them. But they might have to draft a new social media coordinator after this theft.
