Giants' Brandon Belt Reportedly an 'Ideal Fit' With Brewers

With Mike Moustakas and Yasmani Grandal taking their talents to Cincinnati and Chicago respectively this offseason, the Milwaukee Brewers are now in danger of fielding a very right-handed-hitting lineup in 2020 (aside from Christian Yelich, of course).
With the team's need for left-handed hitters, some MLB executives believe that the team could pursue Giants first baseman Brandon Belt.
Rival executives believe #SFGiants’ Brandon Belt would be ideal fit with #Brewers. Would give Milwaukee everyday 1B, an additional left-handed bat in lineup. Unclear if two sides have talked. One potential obstacle: Belt owed $32 million over next two seasons.

In his nine-year career, Belt has been a very solid ballplayer, with an average of .261 and 129 home runs over that span. Never known as a slugger (Belt has never eclipsed 20 home-runs in a season), most may view his contract as being too burdensome for a player of his caliber.
However, the potential of adding an established bat could be too alluring for the team to pass up. Likewise, it is very possible that Belt would unlock a new ceiling in hitter-friendly Miller Park.

While this is all speculation, the Giants appear to be in the midst of a rebuild, so trading Belt and his large contract to the Brewers may not be such a bad idea after all.
