Giants GM Dave Gettleman Put on a Mask Indoors and Twitter Roasted Him

New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman receives his fair share of criticism. His team has been awful since he took over, and the veteran executive openly has a disdain for technology. That made fans intrigued to see how Gettleman would handle a virtual draft.
Gettleman and the Giants largely went chalk and drafted offensive lineman Andrew Thomas with the No. 4 overall pick. The odd part of the selection, however, was seeing Gettleman place a mask on his face after not wearing one the entire time.

The fact ESPN can show any GM at any time makes for some potentially awkward scenarios. This one with Gettleman instantly became a punchline on social media, and many jumped to poke fun at the Giants GM.

However, there is indeed a reason why Gettleman placed the mask on his face.
Pretty obvious why Dave Gettleman is wearing a mask in his own home.

He went through chemotherapy two years ago, he is 69 years old and he has an IT guy in his house.
Gettleman is a cancer survivor, and having an IT guy in his house means he is being extra cautious. So while the scene was funny at first, it is important to know all the facts. Still, someone may want to advise the GM on keeping the mask on at all times if it is needed.
