Giants Kicker Aldrick Rosas Arrested for Hit-and-Run Incident
By Scott Rogust
The New York Giants already had to deal with the off-the-field issues of 2019 first-round pick DeAndre Baker this offseason. The last thing they needed was another controversy.
But they, along with the rest of the world, received news that kicker Aldrick Rosas was arrested in Chico, California for a hit-and-run incident on Monday morning. The third-year kicker allegedly T-boned a car and fled the scene.
Law enforcement officials were told by witnesses that Rosas was driving erratically at approximately 100 miles-per-hour, where he allegedly ran through a red light. It was there when Rosas slammed into the side of a pickup truck with his Chevrolet SUV, and drove off before his vehicle broke down.
Rosas was spotted by police officers walking near the crash site, and his hands, legs and bare feet were covered in blood. After questioning, Rosas was taken to a local medical facility before being booked at Butte County Jail for a hit-and-run charge and for driving with a suspended license. Cops believe that alcohol might've played a factor, but the investigation is still ongoing.
After a Pro Bowl-caliber season in 2018, Rosas struggled in his third year with the Giants. Rosa kicked 12 field goals on 17 attempts (45 yard long) and converted 35-of-39 extra point attempts.
The Giants are aware of the incident but will not provide a comment to the public at this time. We will keep you posted once further updates are revealed regarding Rosas' arrest.
