You hate to see injuries in any game, especially during garbage time of a season finale that had virtually no stakes.

This is the case for New York Giants center Jon Halapio, as the team announced that the fifth-year veteran had torn his Achilles with just a few minutes left in the fourth quarter of the team's game with Philadelphia.

A former sixth-round selection of the New England Patriots, Halapio has become a mainstay on New York's offensive line since joining the team in 2016. With this injury, Halapio is expected to be out until training camp at the earliest.

With the Giants having fired Pat Shurmur on Monday, the loss of Halapio feels like a case of adding insult to injury, following a brutal season for the organization. Here's to hoping that the news gets a little bit better for New York in these next few weeks.
