Giants Reportedly Call Up Grandson of Red Sox Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski

After seven seasons in the minors, Mike Yastrzemski will finally get his shot in the majors with the San Francisco Giants.
The Vanderbilt product is the grandson of 18-time All-Star and Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski, who spent his entire 23-year career with the Boston Red Sox.

Yastrzemski was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2013 and played in their minor league system until he was traded to San Francisco on March 22, 2019 for Tyler Herb. He was then assigned to the organization's Triple-A team in Sacramento, where he has made a considerable impact.
As of Saturday morning, young Yaz held a .316 batting average with 12 homers and 25 RBI in just 40 games during his 2019 campaign with the River Cats, and had been red hot in his last 10 contests before his promotion.

His seven-year stint in the minor leagues has officially come to an end. His journey took him through two different organizations, six teams, and six leagues.
Now, the young outfielder will have to a chance to prove himself at the big league level, and all of New England is overjoyed at the news from the California coast.
