Giants Lineup
Leading off for the Giants is second baseman Donovan Solano. He's been on fire at the plate lately, going 5-for-11 over his past four games. Mike Yastrzemski is hitting second. He has five home runs in his past six games, including a three-homer outing against the Diamondbacks. Veterans Buster Posey and Evan Longoria hit third and fourth respectively.
Rookie Tyler Beede is the Giants starter for Tuesday's opener. He is 3-7 and has lost four straight decisions. Beede has a 5.77 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 82.2 innings.
Cubs Lineup
Jason Heyward leads off for the Cubs, followed by RF Nicholas Castellanos. The new acquisition has played 17 games for the team, making quite the impression with his 1.102 OPS, 6 homers and 8 RBI. Kris Bryant hits third, followed by Anthony Rizzo and Javy Báez. El Mago is struggling of late, going 4-for-28 over his past eight games.
Cole Hamels throws for the Cubs and is 6-4 with a 3.69 ERA in 2019. He has allowed 12 runs in 10 innings since his return from an oblique injury, so he's looking to right the ship with a strong outing on Tuesday.
During their series in San Francisco, the Giants took two out of three from the Cubs. For the Giants, this is a major opportunity for them to make a comeback in the NL wild card.
