It is hard to believe just a year after their fifth straight appearance in the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors are at the bottom of the Western Conference standings.

While Klay Thompson is not expected to return this season due to an Achilles injury, the Dubs are hopeful that Stephen Curry will be ready to return to action in due time. He'll miss all of February, but will then be re-evaluated in advance of a potential return to the court in March.

The two-time MVP suffered a broken left hand back in November in a game against the Phoenix Suns when center Aron Baynes fell on top of Curry underneath the rim.

The Warriors haven't rushed him back to the court, but a long-awaited return could finally be in the offing.

The star point guard may be returning this season for merely the back end of the schedule, and while even Curry's greatest efforts stand next to no chance of securing the Warriors a playoff spot, he will bring some excitement to an otherwise lackluster Golden State roster to finish off the season.

While 2019-20 has been an unfortunate mess for Golden State, next season could be a different story. A high draft pick and the full returns of Curry and Thompson present the promise of a clean slate that will feel much-needed once this year's campaign is mercifully squared away.
