Gordon Hayward Welcomes New Celtic Kemba Walker to Boston With Instagram Post
The warm welcomes continue for Kemba Walker as he makes his way over to join the Boston Celtics to slide right into Kyrie Irving's vacated spot.
The signing of Walker was obviously a big moment for the city of Boston and their fans, but Gordon Hayward has made it evident that the players are excited for his arrival as well.
Boston brought in Walker through a sign-and-trade deal with the Charlotte Hornets to replace a departing Kyrie Irving, who had become a disliked figure by the end of his time in the city.
The Celtics held onto their productive and unproblematic core from last season's roster, which includes wing Gordon Hayward.
As a leading veteran voice of the remaining roster, Hayward took to Instagram on Thursday afternoon to give his new point guard a warm welcome to his new home.
Walker's contract with the Celtics is a four-year, $141 million deal that will leave him in Boston until the end of the 2022-23 NBA season. Plenty of time to build on this welcome!
