Greg Bird Just Showed up Batting Cleanup on Dominican Winter League Team and Yankee Fans Are Floored
By Adam Weinrib

Arguably the most disappointing of all the 2019 Yankees' injury derailments, first baseman Greg Bird proved once again this year why he's slipped well behind Luke Voit on the depth chart, and into Jacoby Ellsbury territory.
In limited duty this year, Bird hit just .171 with a single home run, felled for the season with plantar fasciitis. But the comeback begins...now.
Out of nowhere, Bird showed up hitting fourth for the Gigantes de Cibao in the Dominican Winter League on Tuesday, with plenty of enticing video footage for Yankee fans soon to come.

WHAT?!
New Yorkers would much rather be watching their beloved team in the World Series these days, but at the very least, they've now got a strange and unexpected new mission: find Greg Bird footage, of any type.

Where'd his trademark patience and power go? Why has he been slow on every fastball for a year plus? Not sure, but would love to see a glorious return, at any level.
