Greg Olsen Jokes About His Unclear NFL Future With Perfect Quote-Tweet
By Sean Facey
Greg Olsen ended his 2019 campaign with the Panthers facing a cloudy future. Next season would be the final one of his current contract, but injuries and a coaching changeover in Carolina altered the outlook. Ultimately, he parted ways with the Carolina Panthers.
For his part, though, he's keeping things light. The longtime tight end jokingly fired off a hilarious quote-tweet poking fun at the mystery around his next steps Saturday night.
Hey, he's not necessarily wrong! At the age of 34, Olsen managed to piece together a solid campaign in Carolina despite dealing with a new quarterback in Kyle Allen for most of the year.
The veteran operator, who spent nine years in Charlotte, caught a respectable 63.4% of the passes thrown his way in 2019, totaling 597 receiving yards and two touchdowns. While it was by no means his best career performance, it was certainly serviceable.
And at the end of the day, it's his decision. If he really does think he's got some gas left on the tank, then absolutely nothing is stopping him from suiting up again in the 2020 season for a team that will tak him.
For now, though, it's at least good to see that he's just having fun with all of the uncertainty.
