Grizzlies Rookie Ja Morant Likes NSFW Anti-Andre Iguodala Tweet as Team Beef Heats up
By Jerry Trotta
The future is bright for the Memphis Grizzlies, and they have taken the NBA by surprise thus far by being right in the thick of the Western Conference playoff picture.
Despite that, Andre Iguodala has yet to play in a game since being acquired in an offseason trade with the Golden State Warriors, who were looking to dump his $17.2 million salary.
Iguodala's antics have not sat well with Memphis' young core, particularly Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks, and that tension came to a head on Monday night after the Grizzlies win in the form of an antagonistic quote from Brooks that went viral on NBA Twitter.
Morant then jumped in by endorsing his teammate's quote with a simple, yet powerful emoji.
Well, the Murray State product wasn't quite finished trolling Iguodala. Only this time he wasn't spewing venom. The rookie point guard sensation was caught liking as straightforward of an anti-Iggy tweet as there could be:
The evidence is right there, and confirms that the 20-year-old rising star and his teammates want Iggy out of sight and out of mind.
Even sophomore guard De'Anthony Melton threw in his two cents about the former Finals MVP.
Given the slew of trade rumors to which the three-time NBA champ has been linked over the last 24 hours, their wish might soon be granted. Even if Iguodala isn't dealt ahead of the Feb. 6 deadline, he's already threatened to sit out the remainder of the season. He's simply been that adamant about not playing a single minute in Bluff City.
