The Chicago Bears signed Ha Ha Clinton-Dix this offseason in hopes that the vet safety would bolster their somewhat-suspect secondary.

Well, the organization might have to wait a few more weeks for their plan to come to fruition as the former Packers and Redskins DB has not yet healed from a knee sprain he suffered in mid-June.

During Sunday's pre-training camp presser, Bears general manager Ryan Pace stated that Clinton-Dix is expected to open the camp on the physically unable to perform list (PUP).

“There are probably three guys we might start off on PUP," said Pace. "And they’re all going to be more short-term, we expect. It’ll be T.J. Clemmings, just coming off an ACL; Jonathan Harris has a slight hamstring and then Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has a knee sprain that he sustained right at the end of our offseason program. So we’re just going to be smart as we ramp those guys back up, so don’t be surprised if we start them on PUP."

Bears Nation will be relieved to hear that Pace doesn't seem all-that concerned about the former Alabama All-American's status. Based on his comments, we would anticipate Clinton-Dix returning to the field in a few weeks' time as preseason gets underway.
