Hawks Reportedly Interested in Thunder Big Man Steven Adams
By Will Coleman
The Atlanta Hawks just made a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves to bolster their depth at point guard behind Trae Young, and now it looks like the team is looking to improve its frontcourt.
In the penultimate year of his contract, Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams could be on the move before this season's trade deadline. With the Hawks looking for another big man, they could be the perfect suitor for Adams.
Atlanta was reportedly interested in acquiring Andre Drummond from Detroit but has since established Adams as its preferred trade option, with the trade talks for the Pistons coming to an end.
On the year, Drummond is averaging 17.3 points and a league-high 15.7 rebounds per game, while registering 1.8 blocks. Adams, on the other hand, is posting averages of 11.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.
Sitting at 9-32 this season, there's no telling what type of center the Hawks are looking to acquire and what it's willing to give up for one. But if Atlanta does this right, it could end up with a perfect veteran big man to compliment the likes of Trae Young, De'Andre Hunter and John Collins.
