Jimmy Butler's days in the City of Brotherly Love have come to an end.

According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a sign-and-trade deal with the Miami Heat for Jimmy Butler. In exchange, Philadelphia will receive Josh Richardson.

As a result of this trade, Butler will receive a four-year, $142 max contract from the Heat, per Shams Charania.

A max contract was something that Butler wanted ever since his days with the Minnesota Timberwolves. After expressing his desire to not re-sign with the T-Wolves, Butler found his way onto the 76ers.

This past season, Butler averaged 18.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists

Philadelphia found themselves in quite a predicament, as they had major decisions to make about both Butler and fellow trade deadline acquisition Tobias Harris, who both sought max money. In the end, it was Harris who won out, earning a five-year, $180 million deal to remain with the team.

With Dwyane Wade retired, Butler now ahs the opportunity to become the new face of the Heat franchise. A new journey begins now.
