Here's How Andrew Luck Helped PJ Walker Get a Chance in the XFL

With the return of the XFL, heartwarming stories about how some of these players overcame adversity and got their second chance at football are starting to surface.
During a game between the Houston Roughnecks and St. Louis BattleHawks, the commentary team told the story of how star Roughnecks signal caller PJ Walker made it to the team -- thanks to some help from former Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck.
After playing football at Temple University, PJ Walker was a regular part of the Colts practice squad. While he never made a roster spot, Walker formed a relationship with Luck during their time in Indy.
When the XFL was reborn, Luck's father, Oliver Luck, was made commissioner of the league. One of Oliver Luck's responsibilities was to assign quarterbacks for each team for the inaugural season. Andrew convinced his father to give Walker a chance in the league, and so far it's worked out for everyone involved.
Walker is at the top of the league in passing touchdowns with seven and has the second-highest completion percentage at 62.3%. The Roughnecks are undefeated at 2-0 behind their quarterback and we don't know where the team would be if Andrew Luck didn't help thrust Walker into a starting job.
