Here's How Yankees Can Trade for Marcus Stroman
By Sean Facey
As the Blue Jays continue their rebuild and Marcus Stroman continues to regain his dominant form, it seems increasingly likely that team's ace gets dealt at the trade deadline.
The Yankees have cropped up numerous times as one of his possible landing spots, but it would take a decent package get him in pinstripes.
Stroman has an additional year of control left on his contract, so a top-tier pitching prospect like Jonathan Loaisiga, baseball's 53rd overall prospect, would need to headline any package heading to Toronto.
Deivi Garcia, an electric strikeout factory of a right-hander with a 3.50 ERA in Double-A this year, also would have to be part of the package to offset the loss of the team's young ace.
The Blue Jays have also watched Vladimir Guerrero Jr. exit the pipeline, and the team's eighth overall prospect, Cavan Biggio, seems destined to stay in the MLB as well. Everson Pereira, a young outfield bat, could help replenish some offensive depth.
In sum, a bundle of Loaisiga, Garcia and Periera is what it would take to bring the Stro Show to the Bronx.
The deal could definitely be worth it, if you believe Stroman's competitive fire will play up with the chance to bring a championship back to New York.
