Here's Why the Eagles Are the Perfect Destination for Colin Kaepernick

Colin Kaepernick hasn't played a down of NFL football in three seasons, but there is legitimate interest in him as a backup quarterback in 2020 following the protests over the last few weeks.

Kaepernick, is drawing interest from Anthony Lynn and the Los Angeles Chargers, could be a solid fit as the No. 2 quarterback on Doug Pederson's Philadelphia Eagles.

Some might argue the presence of 2020 second-rounder Jalen Hurts makes Kaepernick redundant, but Pederson implied that Nate Sudfeld will start the year ahead of Hurts on the depth chart. As far as potential is concerned, Kaepernick's ceiling is much higher than that of Sudfeld.

The Eagles also have shown they are willing to take on lightning rod quarterbacks after the whole Michael Vick saga. While Vick and Kaepernick have been exiled for completely different reasons, there is still a great deal of risk in signing both of these players. The Vick signing paid dividends, and Kaepernick might also work out if he still has enough left in the tank.

When you pair that with Kaepernick's arm and mobility, Philly almost makes too much sense.

Kaepernick's best landing spots are those that offer him a spot as a high end backup behind a starter like Wentz in Philadelphia. Should he once again get hurt, Philly should feel fine with turning the reigns over to Kaepernick.
