VIDEO: Viral Home Run Kid Asher Willig Gets Ultimate Surprise From Ronald Acuña
By Scott Rogust
If you grew up watching Major League Baseball at a young age, you definitely had the urge to play the game just like your favorite stars. Admit it, you remember when you hit your first home run in Little League or on the practice field and pictured yourself in the shoes of Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, or Ken Griffey Jr.. For four-year-old Asher Willig, he hit his first ever blast over the fence while practicing his swings with his father, Cory. Willig was donning a Ronald Acuña jersey at the time, and even did one of the Braves phenom's signature bat flips after sending the ball into orbit. A few weeks after the clip went viral, Atlanta's star outfielder surprised Asher with a very special gift.
Autographed cleats! A tremendous gesture from Acuña.
Asher was more or less born to play baseball. He introduced himself to the world in 2018 when he defeated former New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez in a swing-off on "The Tonight Show" at just 22 months old! He boasted a power bat ever since he was the tiniest of tots, so it was only a matter of time before he started mashing dingers.
Don't worry, Asher, you'll grow into Acuna's cleats one day.
