VIDEO: Malik Monk Calls Game and Drills 3-Pointer at Buzzer to Beat Pistons
By Mark Powell
Kentucky product Malik Monk is finally making his presence felt in the NBA, with the Charlotte Hornets downing the Detroit Pistons thanks to a 3-pointer by the 21-year-old at the buzzer.
With just one second to avoid overtime, the Pistons shadowed the likes of Terry Rozier, leaving Monk with the opportunity for a quick catch-and-shoot. The Hornets, meanwhile, have been a pleasant surprise this season for their standards, sitting at 5-7 after their latest win over a Detroit team that fancies themselves a contender for a lower-tier playoff seed in the East.
