Malik Monk's road to redemption in the NBA begins now after his punishment for drug use has finally been served.

Monk was suspended indefinitely in February for violating the league's drug policy and the former Kentucky Wildcats star and Charlotte Hornets sharpshooter was reinstated on Monday, per the Charlotte Observer.

Monk won't return to the floor this season, however, as the Hornets were one of the eight teams that were not included in the league's 22-team restart in Orlando.

The former No. 11 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft has yet to justify that selection. Monk has started just one game in his three-year career, and his trademark lethal 3-pointer has evaporated in the pros. Monk is shooting 39.5% from the floor in the NBA, including 32% from deep.

We don't know specifically what drugs got Monk suspended at this juncture, but it's safe to say it's comforting to see he's back in the good graces of the league.

Hopefully the rigid, structured environment of an NBA locker room helps Monk get back on track.
