Hornets Troll Lakers With Postgame Tweet After Their Narrow Win Over Bulls
By Scott Rogust
The Los Angeles Lakers sent groans throughout the NBA world for their cocky tweet "warning" the rest of the league following a meaningless preseason victory. After all the hype, the Lakers fell in their season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers, during which LeBron James and Anthony Davis pulled off a disappearing act in the fourth quarter.
Considering they dropped the ball, there was going to be one team who held onto the receipt. That team turned out to be the Charlotte Hornets.
After narrowly defeating the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night, the Hornets spoofed the Lakers' overconfident preseason tweet.
The Lakers social media team had to see this happening eventually, right? You're just setting yourself up for jokes when you do something like that.
As for the Hornets, this is also perfect considering they're far from a playoff team and barely beat a fellow basement dweller in the Bulls.
And Charlotte has a better record than the Lakers! Sorry, LA.
If you're a fan of NBA drama, you have to appreciate the early pettiness we've seen.
