How Cowboys Can Still Make Playoffs if They Lose to Eagles
By Chris Pyo

At this point, the NFL should just give away the NFC East's playoff spot, because this is getting ridiculous. The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are both 7-7, yet somehow one of them is guaranteed to be playing postseason football. Either way, rules are rules.
The Eagles and Cowboys faced off once earlier this year, with Dallas winning 37-10. Thus, the Cowboys are considered to be decent favorites, even with the hoopla surrounding Dak Prescott's shoulder. But what if the Cowboys somehow lose? Is there any chance of them making the playoffs?

Of course it's possible. For crying out loud, it's the NFC East.
If the Cowboys lose, they can still earn a playoff berth by beating the Redskins in Week 17. However, they'll have to rely on their rival New York Giants to take care of business against the Eagles. While the G-Men have struggled, they only lost to Philadelphia by only a touchdown the last time they played, so it's possible.

So, while taking care of business at Lincoln Financial Field is obviously the preferred option, Cowboys fans can enjoy some comfort in knowing that a loss on Sunday doesn't guarantee they won't be playing football in January.
