Howie Roseman Somewhat Makes up for Jalen Hurts Selection by Going LB in 3rd Round
By Mark Powell

Howie Roseman had a lot of explaining to do in regards to his second-round pick in Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts, but his third selection actually makes some sense.
Hurts wasn't a necessity for an Eagles team which annually competes for a playoff spot, but he does provide some strength behind Carson Wentz, who was often injured over the course of his three-year career.
With their third-round selection, however, the Eagles went in a different direction, adding to their linebacker depth in Davion Taylor.

Taylor possesses elite speed for the position, which the Eagles desperately need. He'll fit in quite well at Lincoln Financial.
The former Colorado Buffalos stud ran a 4.37 40-yard dash, and can also play some safety depending on the formation. That kind of creativity gives the Eagles DC Jim Schwartz all kinds of options.

Eagles fans can simmer down, as Roseman is no longer distracted by the team's glaring need behind Wentz.
Expect the defensive backfield to be addressed next.
