Howie Roseman Claims Texans Didn't Offer Eagles Same DeAndre Hopkins Deal Cardinals Eventually Accepted

The Houston Texans got ripped off by the Arizona Cardinals. Bill O'Brien sent Hopkins and a 2020 fourth-round pick to Arizona in exchange for David Johnson, a 2020 second-round pick, and a 2021 fourth-round pick.
Other teams needing a receiver may have been shocked to see that was all it took to acquire the four-time Pro Bowl receiver. The Philadelphia Eagles were reportedly talking to the Texans and according to GM Howie Roseman, Houston never asked for such a paltry return.
Asked about the DeAndre Hopkins trade, Howie Roseman indicates that the Texans weren't offering the same deal to the Eagles that the Cardinals go.

It is tough to decode O'Brien's mind. The Eagles surely could have offered up a player much better than Johnson, who had only 715 total yards in 2019. Roseman also indicated the team just decided against making a trade for Hopkins based on what was on the table, so it is possible O'Brien just took the best offer he could get.

The Texans had no desire to restructure Hopkins' contract and it is possible the Eagles didn't want to hand out any raises either. With Alshon Jeffery on the way out, Philly's need a receiver is still obvious.
