Incredible Practice Story From N'Keal Harry's College Coach Proves He's Perfect for the Patriots
By James.r
New England Patriots' first round pick N'Keal Harry is known for his work ethic, toughness, and discipline on the football field. His 4.53 40-yard dash time may not be eye-popping, but his effort and playmaking ability certainly are.
Apparently, Harry's non-stop effort even irked his college coaches sometimes:
The wide receiver annoyed his coaches at Arizona State because he refused to stop diving for the ball in practice. "I go, ‘N’Keal, don’t be diving for a ball on Thursday. We don’t even have pads on,'" former ASU head coach Todd Graham said in an interview with The Athletic.
This type of effort will likely be tolerated just fine by Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, two men known for their virtually-unmatched competitiveness. Brady is famous for having a "mamba mentality" on the practice field, and any rookie receiver willing to sacrifice himself day in and day out is a quarterback's dream.
Brady, who skipped OTAs, has apparently already been working with Harry and Julian Edelman this month.
If diving during practice helps him make catches like this on Sundays, it will all be worth it. Harry already appears to be a perfect fit in New England, and let's be honest: we would expect nothing less of the Patriots.
