Incredibly Slow Man Who Lost to the Freeze Corrects SI Over So-Called 'Pulled Hammy'

The only thing we know about the Freeze is that (virtually) nobody can beat him in a race...even with an exceptionally generous head start. In case you somehow haven't heard of the world-beating sprinter, the Freeze is dressed up in a turquoise spandex suit and challenges fans to a race in the outfield in between certain innings of Atlanta Braves games at SunTrust Park.

Well, on Thursday night, one poor sap attempted to dethrone the champ, and to say that he failed miserably wouldn't even begin to describe his dreadful display. Take a look:

Yes, the Braves commentators were generous enough to presume the individual pulled his hamstring upon passing the 375 marker in left-center field.

However, the man, identified on Twitter as Jim Scroggs, wasn't here to make excuses for himself, replying to hysterical clip by claiming that he is in fact that slow on his feet.

We admire the honesty, but after a showing as shambolic as the one from Friday night, we might have just gone with the pulled hammy narrative. Most contestants are at least able to make the Freeze sweat a little bit. Against Scroggs, he barely gave it 70 percent.

All told, this is the beauty of Twitter in a nutshell. It really is the gift that keeps on giving.
