Indians Designate Veteran Outfielder Carlos Gonzalez for Assignment

The search for help on offense continues in Cleveland.
The Cleveland Indians have designated veteran outfielder Carlos Gonzalez for assignment.
The three-time All-Star was called up to the big-league club in mid-April just a month after the team signed him to a minor-league contract. The hope was that he could provide a spark for Cleveland's offense, but he only ended up making matters worse.
The 33-year-old slashed .210/.282/.276 in 105 plate appearances at the MLB level, hitting two home runs and driving in seven during that span.
Gonzalez was at one point of the league's most feared hitters, piecing together a three-year stretch from 2010-2012 in which he amassed 82 home runs, 294 RBI and an impressive .918 OPS.
He even finished the 2015 season with 40 home runs, one of only three NL players to reach that mark that year.
Perhaps there's a team out there that thinks it can still revive the old Gonzalez.
For now, though, his career is set to continue on it's downward trajectory.
