Indians' Roberto Perez Takes to Twitter to Prove He's Best Defender in Baseball

If anyone had a problem with Cleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez winning the American League's Gold Glove Award at the catcher position, the man himself is here to shut you up with some facts.

If you are to trust the SABR Defensive Index, or SDI, as the ultimate determining factor in terms of defensive prowess, Perez dwarfs his AL competition, with Oakland A's third baseman Matt Chapman the only defender close. Perez decided to show it off to the world.

Perez was so dominant behind the plate that he almost tripled the tally of the closest catcher on this list, Toronto Blue Jays rookie Danny Jansen.

But his offense also took a big leap forward. After never hitting more than eight home runs in a season, Perez smacked 24 long balls and 63 RBI in 119 games.

You can say what you will about Perez, but NEVER say he isn't the best defensive catcher in the league, because he will prove you wrong.
