Indians to Send Corey Kluber Out on Rehab Assignment Thursday
By Thomas Carannante

The Cleveland Indians are getting reinforcements back at just the right time.
Terry Francona's club has been surging and improving their playoff chances each and every day. In a tight AL Central race with the Minnesota Twins, however, they're going to need all the help they can get, especially after they just traded Trevor Bauer.
They'll be getting just that within the next couple weeks now that Corey Kluber is set to go on a rehab assignment this coming Thursday.

This is now official after it was tentatively scheduled yesterday as the team awaited the results from his 35-pitch bullpen session.
Corey Kluber will begin a minor-league rehab assignment on Thursday, as long as he feels fine tomorrow after throwing a 35-pitch sim game today.

Kluber, 33, hit the injured list after just seven starts when he suffered a fractured forearm. In those outings, he registered an awful 5.80 ERA and 1.65 WHIP in just 35.2 innings.
Nonetheless, the former Cy Young should inject some more energy into a revived starting rotation that has thrived with Shane Bieber, Mike Clevinger, Adam Plutko and Zach Plesac.
